핵심 표현과 기본 가이드 문장

1) ~이 있다: There is/are a lot of ~.
  * 많은: many / a lot of / lots of / plenty of 
  "사람이 있어요."

  There is a person.

  "사람들이 많이 있어요."

  There are a lot of(many) people.

  "차가 많아요."

  There are a lot of cars.

  "교통량이 많아요.(=차가 막혀요.)"

  There is a lot of traffic.

  "(여러 명에 대해서) 시간이 많아요."

  There is a lot of time. (We have a lot of time.)

   "문제가 있어요." 

  There is a problem.

   "문제가 많아요."
  
  There are many problems.

   "이 근처에 좋은 식당이 없어요."
  
 There are a lot of good restaurants nearby (near here).
  * 이 근처에: near here / nearby

2) ~이 없다: There is/are no ~
  "여기는 화장실이 없어요." 

 There is no bathroom here. (There are no bathrooms here.)
  
  "시간이 없어." 

   There is no time.

  "이 근처에 좋은 식당이 없어요." 

   There are no good restaurants nearby.

3) 별로 없다: There isn't/aren't many(a lot of) ~
  "사람이 별로 없어요"

  There aren't many(a lot of) people.

1) "바닷가에는 다른 조약돌들도 많이 있어. (오늘만 날이 아니다, 기회는 또 얼마든지 있다.) "

    There are a lot of pebbles on the shore.

6) "그 뒤에서 많은 사람들이 들어가기 위해 기다리고 있어."

    There are a lot of people behind who is waiting to enter there. (??)

    There are a lot of people back there waiting to get in.

 

7) "지금은 예전보다 젊은 사람들에게 기회가 훨씬 더 많아."

    There are even more opportunity to young people than before.

    There are far more opportunities for young people than there used to be.

    * 비교급 강조 even, much, still, far, a lot
